Notes: The Estate property, Gualala Ranch is located in the heart of Fort Ross-Seaview roughly 5 miles east from the Pacific Ocean sitting at an elevation of 1400ft. The 90-acre property is planted to 11 acres of vineyards, was planted back in 1998 and is dry-farmed organically. After harvest in mid-September, the wines under natural fermentation with complete malolactic fermentation, before aging for 11 months in a combination of roughly 10% new French oak and 30% concrete egg. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Aromatically the wine is full of salty sea air from the proximity of the ocean, as well as lingering notes of sweet Meyer lemon. On the palate, the wine has notes of bay leaf, orange blossoms and has a zippy, long finish.
