Notes: Arborina is a small Menzione Geografica of Barolo (an officially delineated vineyard with distinct characteristics and quality, or cru, valid only for vineyards in Barolo or Barbaresco) located in the frazione Annunziata in the township of La Morra. The vineyard is on the side of a hill that rises towards the village of Ciotto in the direction of Cascina Nuova, with south, southeast sun exposure, with a well-ventilated northeast valley. Here, we cultivate about two and a half hectares of vineyards with southeast exposure, between 250 and 300 m in elevation. The soil is poor in nutrients, consisting of Sant’Agata Marl, a mix of clay, fine sand, and limestone that was formed during the Tortonian period. Barolo made from these vineyards is distinguished for its fruitiness and freshness, an almost ethereal finesse, extreme elegance, and a not-excessive concentration, all brought together with a fine, intense, and aromatic bouquet.
