***CASE10 SELECTION***
Notes: This wine hails from Failla’s original estate property in the Fort-Ross Seaview AVA. Initially purchased as a 45 acre parcel in 1995, the site was later expanded to 90 acres in 2000 through the addition of land adjacent to the original acreage. Shortly after the expansion, Ehren planted 5 acres of Pinot Noir. The Estate Vineyard, which sits at 1400 ft above sea level and 4 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, is dry farmed organically and biodynamically by Failla’s in house farming team. The small block of heritage selection Pinot Noir (Swan, Calera, and Pommard) is planted mid-slope upon a rocky knoll. The wine sees only native yeasts throughout the fermentation process before aging for 11 months in 20% new French oak. While always a bold expression of the West Sonoma Coast, this wine also offers elegance with a palate of bay leaves, dried herbs, orange marmalade & faint leather.
